Your files

Files you split with our tools are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored by us. All processing — opening, previewing, cutting, and packaging results — happens inside your browser tab, on your device, using standard web platform APIs. We have no processing servers, no file storage, and therefore no copies, no retention period, and nothing to delete. When you close the tab, the work is gone.

You don't need to take our word for it: open your browser's developer tools and watch the network while you use a tool, or use the tools with your connection turned off.

What we don't collect

• No accounts, so no names, emails, or passwords
• No file contents, names, or metadata
• No advertising trackers or cross-site cookies
• No sale or sharing of personal data — we hold none to sell

What does exist

Hosting logs.Like every website, the server that delivers our pages (not your files — pages) may record standard request data: IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamp. These logs are used for security and capacity purposes and are governed by our hosting provider's practices.

Local storage.The site may store your interface preferences in your own browser's storage. That data stays on your device and we never receive it.

Analytics. This site currently runs no analytics scripts. If we ever add privacy-preserving, cookieless analytics to count page views, this page will be updated first to say exactly what is measured.

Email

If you email contact@split.tools, we receive what you send — that's how email works. We use it only to reply, and we ask you not to send us sensitive files; we never need them.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be reflected on this page with an updated date. The core commitment — your files are processed locally and never uploaded — is the architecture of the product, not a revocable setting.
